Horizon Eye Care, P.A. Announces New Statesville Office Location

Horizon Eye Care announces today the opening of its Statesville office location at 525 Brookdale Drive, phone (704) 761-0200, which is adjacent to Iredell Memorial Hospital. The primary focus of the office is to provide medical and surgical services involving primarily cataract and retinal care. "Horizon Eye Care recognizes the vibrant and growing community in Statesville and is pleased to be able to become part of the medical community," Dr. Paul Galentine, MD, Horizon Eye Care's Chairman, Board of Directors.

Dr. Jack Gillis, MD is returning to the Statesville community following three years of practicing ophthalmology in Mooresville. Dr. Gillis will continue to practice in Mooresville and add Statesville to his weekly schedule. Dr. Gillis will focus on medical referrals from the Statesville area doctors as well as surgical cataract care. "I am thrilled to be returning to the Statesville community where I have been serving patients and referring doctors for over 10 years and look forward to providing state-of-the-art cataract care and excellent service to the Statesville area residents and doctors," says Dr. Gillis.

Dr. Strutha Rouse, MD has been a retinal specialist in Charlotte in the University City and Lake Norman communities for the past two years. He is pleased to be bringing his retina services to the Statesville community in partnership with Dr. Gillis. "This is a wonderful opportunity for me to partner with Dr. Gillis and provide full-service medical and surgical retina care, in partnership with Iredell Memorial Hospital, to the residents of the greater Statesville area," says Dr. Rouse.

First Retina Surgeon to Provide Surgical Services In Statesville

Iredell Memorial Hospital (IMH) has been instrumental in bringing Dr. Rouse and Horizon Eye Care to Statesville. IMH is developing the city's first retina surgical program in conjunction with Dr. Rouse. "No longer will residents of the Statesville area need to travel to either Charlotte or Winston-Salem for surgical care of their retina as we will provide state-of-the-art care right here at IMH," says Mr. Ed Rush, President & CEO of IMH.
